If you feel that you are addicted to alcohol or drugs, please contact the surgery to find out what we can do to help.

We work closely with We Are With You who provides treatment for people who are trying to give up drugs and are recovering from addiction. We provide a ‘shared care’ system and those patients who are wishing to come off drugs will be asked to see them for support first. They are fully staffed with support workers as well as Doctors who are trained in dealing with substance misuse. Any medication (methadone, subutex, etc.) will initially be provided by Addaction and when the dose is stable and Addaction feels the patient is on the right treatment, prescribing will be transferred to the surgery.

Alcohol Recovery Agency (ARA) provides abstinence based treatment for people in recovery from alcohol addiction. The service incorporates a fully integrated treatment programme involving: residential accommodation, group work, counselling, relapse prevention, housing resettlement and support, learning and work development, and aftercare.

Both these services also accept self-referrals.
