If you have just found out you are pregnant, then allow us to be one of the first to congratulate you. You will need to arrange your booking appointment with the Ashcombe Birth Centre, which lasts for about 60 minutes, at around 8 – 10 weeks of your pregnancy.

Planning your pregnancy and birth

Weeks are calculated from the first day of your Last Menstrual Period – LMP. After this initial booking appointment, the midwives will arrange to see you at various intervals throughout your pregnancy at their new dedicated site.

Improved Access

We are working together with other local practices to offer patients access to more appointments in the early mornings, evenings and at weekends. To find out more about these services, please contact the practice.

Postnatal Checks

Once you have your precious little bundle, we will send you a letter detailing the time and date of your postnatal and 6 week check for both you and your baby. This appointment takes around 30 minutes and covers all aspects of your care. This is the ideal time to speak up if you are having any concerns at all. Once this check is complete, your baby will begin their immunisations schedule. You will automatically receive notifications of when your child is due their vaccinations. To find out when they are due, please click here to view the NHS Immunisation Schedule.
